The DWD Temperature Explorer is a free, browser-based dashboard that allows users to easily explore, visualize, and download historical temperature data from the Deutscher Wetterdienst (German Meteorological Service).

The Chair of Climate Resilience of Cultural Ecosystems at the Center for Climate Resilience, 新万博体育下载_万博体育app【投注官网】 of Augsburg, has been selected for the Satellite Embeddings Dataset – Small Grants Program, an initiative supported by Google. The funded project, “Predicting Urban Air Pollution in Quito, Ecuador Using Satellite Embeddings and Machine Learning,” is led by Dr. Cesar Ivan Alvarez.

Because many cities lack complete air quality monitoring networks, an interactive web app was developed to visualize monthly median NO? and SO? concentrations worldwide. Users can explore air quality by clicking on a map or entering coordinates, making the tool accessible to researchers and the public.

The research group for Climate Resilience of Human-made Ecosystems made a significant contribution to the International Climate Resilience Conference (iCARE) 2025. Dr. César ?lvarez and Dr. Harison Kipkulei presented important research findings on the effects of climate change and strategies for strengthening resilience among smallholder farmers in the Global South.

Cesar Ivan Alvarez and Harison Kipkulei, from the Research Group for Climate Resilience, taught the bilingual course “Herramientas geoespaciales y modelado de paisajes para la evaluación de la seguridad alimentaria y la resiliencia climática” in Quito, Ecuador (August 25–29). Supported by CEDIA/Fondo Avante, the training strengthened Ecuadorian researchers’ geospatial capacities.?
